Partnering with CAMH to Get Frontline Workers the Mental Health Support They Need

Since our inception in March, we’ve been laser focused on supporting frontline healthcare workers and making sure they have what they need to do their jobs. These often overlooked workers were suddenly thrust into the spotlight at the start of the pandemic and our generous donors stepped up to help us provide PPE, meals, and other services.

As spring turned into summer and then fall, the needs have shifted and changed, and we’ve kept up. We had the opportunity to partner with some wonderful organizations serving indigenous communities, long term care homes, shelters, and more.

In a public health crisis, however, the mental health of those on the frontlines can get forgotten. That’s why we’re excited to announce our partnership with CAMH (Centre for Addiction & Mental Health in Toronto) in supporting the COVID-19 Mental Health Resiliency & Coping Fund.

The COVID-19 Mental Health Resiliency & Coping Fund supports the growing mental health and wellness needs of patients, frontline health care workers and businesses. The fund is primarily focused on supporting health care workers’ mental health through access to therapy and virtual resources.

With the support of our donors, The Home Front contributed $5,000 to the fund. The mental and emotional strain on health care workers is ever increasing as Covid-19 continues to grow. If you’re looking to support front line health care workers, consider joining us to support the CAMH fund as we head into the winter.
